Jejudang Bakery Cafe in Jeju Island: My Visit to This Huge Aewol Cafe
First Korea Trip · Updated October 2, 2026
Last fact-checked: October 2, 2026
I visited Jejudang Bakery Cafe on September 20, 2026, during my month-long stay on Jeju Island. It is in Aewol, but not on the busy coastal strip. The site has a large building, a broad paved area, and landscaped outdoor space.
Glow Seoul, the company behind the space, describes Jejudang as a comprehensive 800-pyeong bakery cafe that opened in May 2024. The building and grounds are large enough that the scale is clear before you enter.
This is what the Jejudang Bakery Cafe was actually like when I visited: the bakery display, indoor space, garden, outdoor areas, and the practical details I would check before going.

Why I Stopped at Jejudang in Aewol
The day before, I had spent most of my time around the Aewol coast. Jejudang was different. It sits farther inland, so I went there as a separate stop rather than treating it as part of the Handam and Gwakji coastal route.
If you want that coastal route instead, I wrote about my Aewol day from Handam Coastal Trail to Gwakji Beach separately.
From the front, there is a broad paved area, a long low building, and more outdoor space beyond the main entrance.

The Bakery Area Is Much Bigger Than a Normal Cafe Counter
Inside, the bakery section stretches across a large part of the space. When I visited, breads and baked items were displayed across long counters rather than packed into one small case.

Visit Jeju describes Jejudang as a bakery and brunch cafe using Jeju produce in some of its menu. The official listing also mentions meals, desserts and drinks in one place.
I photographed the displays and looked around the bakery area, but I am not going to review a specific bread or drink I did not personally confirm eating. Menu items and prices can also change, so the current cafe listing is the better source if you are visiting for something specific.
What the Jejudang Interior Actually Looks Like
The indoor space is open and bright. Different sections break up the seating area, and the interior uses dark stone, wood, plants and water features.

Glow Seoul says the design was built around a modern interpretation of Jeju nature and culture. In the sections I photographed, natural textures, large windows, greenery and indoor water appear throughout the space.
One section I photographed had a large indoor water feature with rocks, plants and tree branches. The water feature runs through the seating area rather than sitting in a separate decorative corner.

The Outdoor Space Is a Big Part of the Visit
I spent time outside as well. The grounds include broad lawn areas, landscaped planting and walking space around the building.

I walked around the outdoor area after looking through the cafe. The landscaped grounds extend well beyond the building, with lawn, planting and walking space around it.

Visit Jeju lists a large parking area, group seating and stroller-friendly space. That makes sense from what I saw: the layout is designed for people arriving by car and for groups that need more room than a small neighborhood cafe can provide.

Practical Information Before Visiting Jejudang Bakery Cafe
- Address: 927 Wolgak-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si.
- Current hours: Visit Jeju currently lists 10:00–21:00.
- Last orders: restaurant 18:30, cafe 20:30 on the current Visit Jeju listing.
- Parking: a large parking area is listed by Visit Jeju.
- Navigation: save the Korean name 제주당 as well as the English name when searching in a Korean map app.
If this is your first time driving around Korea, my NAVER Map guide for tourists explains why I use Korean map apps for local navigation.
Opening hours, last orders and individual menu items can change. I would recheck the current listing on the day you go rather than planning around an old screenshot or review.
Who Jejudang Makes Sense For
Jejudang makes the most sense if you want a cafe stop that includes more than a drink at a table. The bakery display, large indoor space and outdoor grounds give you enough to walk around and spend some time there.
It is also a practical option for families or larger groups because of the parking and amount of space. If you prefer a small cafe directly on the Aewol shoreline, this is a different type of stop.
I visited Jejudang on September 20, 2026.
